In Kyrgyzstan, staying in a traditional yurt near the famous Song-Kul Lake offers a chance to experience a more traditional way of life amid spectacular mountain scenery.

Tajikistan may require more careful advance planning, particularly regarding entry requirements and travel arrangements. Whichever country you choose, a little preparation goes a long way towards making your journey smoother and more rewarding.
